Many businesses look overseas for the production of their product and its packaging design to keep costs down and in turn keep profit margins as high as possible.
More often than not, companies selling these deals offer a packaging design service where the production house will create a bespoke design to meet your brief’, all included in the cost. Sound too good to be true? Sadly it often is.
Over the past couple of years we have seen several clients come to us with their designs for packaging who have initially gone down this route. What they have been presented back with is usually very basic and far from what they envisioned.
They are usually then left with a very tight deadline before production is started to get a redesign, which not only costs them more money but also a lot of stress.
Of course we are always happy to help clients in these situations and will work to any deadline, but the more and more we see it, we feel it’s important clients are aware that separating design and production can often work out far better value for money long term (although this may seem more costly in the beginning).
Once we have developed a packaging design style for a client, we can easily adapt this across a range of design collateral including point of sales designs, sample packs, sales aids, outer shell packaging – the possibilities are endless. This ensures the whole product styling is consistent and builds the brand recognition for the product.
If you are looking into the packaging design of your next product for 2019, give us a call or drop us an email and we can discuss what options we think would work best for you.
